In 2026, Travel Nunavut is recognizing 30 years of Nunavut tourism!
On April 26, 1996, we were incorporated under the Societies Act of the Northwest Territories.
Since then, a lot has happened. It was three years later that Nunavut became its own territory. In 2018, we refreshed our brand as Travel Nunavut. And together, over 30 years, we have built what is now an $820M industry supporting over 5,400 jobs in the territory.
With the support of our members, to whom we tip our hats for the incredible work they do and perseverance they show, and our many valued partners in industry and government, we will continue to grow the travel industry – to the benefit of Nunavummiut.
This year, we are excavating the archives. We’re dusting off old images and videos and unearthing stories that we hope will make you feel proud of what we’ve achieved in 30 years and inspire us all as we look forward.
