Pathways to Indigenous Market Readiness provides resources for Indigenous entrepreneurs looking to become Business Ready and start and operate an Indigenous tourism business for their local market, and for those looking to become Visitor Ready and grow their Indigenous tourism business by attracting visitors from outside their local market.
It includes four important themes, called Pathways:
- Becoming an Authentic Indigenous Tourism Business
- Establishing and Building your Business
- Ensuring a Positive Visitor Experience
- Marketing and Visitor Services
The four Pathways include a total of twenty-four eLearning modules called Stepping Stones, which include interactive learning content, tools and templates, and guidance from Indigenous tourism operators, including the knowledge required to successfully create and operate an Indigenous tourism business.
Created in partnership with the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), the program covers many of the criteria for ITAC’s Original Original accreditation for Indigenous tourism businesses. Each Pathway is aligned with the Original Original standards framework and contains specific information and methods for operators looking to achieve the Accreditation requirements.
Upon completion of all modules, learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
